Dry Ingredients:
- 5 cups ground apple cinnamon Oatally Awesome
- 1 cup unflavoured protein powder (optional)
- ¼ tsp nutmeg
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- ¼ tsp allspice
Liquid Ingredients:
- 1 cup coconut oil
- ½ cup honey or maple syrup
- 1 ½ cups unsweetened apple sauce
- ½ cup caramel sauce (homemade or bought)
Caramel Sauce:
- 2 tbsp water
- ¼ cup coconut palm sugar
- ½ cup coconut milk
- 1 tsp vanilla
- Pinch of salt
Bring water and palm sugar to a boil, stirring constantly. Add coconut milk, vanilla and salt and cook over medium heat for 10 minutes, stirring continuously. Mixture will thicken and darken.
Using a blender, grind Oatally Awesome until it is a medium coarse texture (this will help to bind bars). In a large bowl combine all dry ingredients. In a microwave safe dish or a saucepan combine the liquid ingredients and heat until melted (about 2 minutes in microwave). Pour liquid onto dry ingredients and, using your hands to incorporate well (mixture should be thick and sticky). Place mixture into an ungreased 9×13” pan. Press down until evenly distributed.
Place in a refrigerator until cooled completely (a few hours).
Slice and serve.
You can wrap bars individually and freeze, they keep well in the freezer.
